RFSL Utbildning AB is RFSL's knowledge company. The company's aim is to give organizations and companies knowledge and tools to create safer environments and better treatment of LGBTQ people.
RFSL was the first to launch hbtqi certification – since 2008, actors across the country have been offered RFSL's hbtqi certification. Over the years, over 550 businesses have been LGBTQI-certified by RFSL.
RFSL - National Federation for the Rights of Homosexuals, Bisexuals, Transgenders, Queers and Intersex Persons, is Sweden's largest membership organization for LGBTQI people. Since the organization was founded in 1950, RFSL has dealt with the dissemination of information and education about LGBTQ people's living conditions and rights. RFSL was also a pioneer in introducing norm criticism in Sweden.
RFSL Utbildning AB is wholly owned by RFSL and consists of sales of hbtqi certifications, trainings and consulting assignments. Surpluses from RFSL Utbildning AB's sales are used to finance parts of RFSL's activities for the rights of LGBTQI people in Sweden and around the world.
LGBTQ certification is a process where a business with the support of RFSL begins, or strengthens, strategic work with the aim of countering discrimination and creating a safe work environment and LGBTQ-competent treatment.
The certification is led by a trainer from RFSL, is conducted from a norm-critical perspective and is carried out over about 5 months. All employees in the business undergo training and are involved in a development work that includes an operational analysis as well as the formulation of goals and efforts. The process results in an action plan for the next three years, which is also the time that the hbtqi certificate is valid.
